About the Flowers

Original Painting of 'Dahlias and Flower Buds Study'

This botanical artwork was inspired by the dahlias from the local flower markets. I was so excited to find these gorgeous blooms - their perfect little round floral faces have always intrigued me! Their petals seem seem to vibrate with colour and have a shimmery sheen to them. I setup a still life and focused on painting all the zingy colours!
